Quick answer: On Armchair Expert's Halloween "Armchair Anonymous" episode, a caller tells Dax Shepard and Monica Padman about her first night as a haunted hayride scare actor. She grabbed the side of the tractor in character, it didn't stop, she hit the ground, and she got back up and chased it, still screaming. Only after it turned the corner did she collapse and realize the tractor had run over her foot. A host's verdict: "That is a committed actor."

The story
It was the first tractor of the night. Her job was to jump out and act like she was trying to climb aboard: "Help me. Take me with you. They're after me." But "as I grab onto the side, I realize the tractor's not stopping." She kept holding on and screaming until "I feel this like thunk, and I'm on the ground."
Her first thought: "The show must go on." She got up, ran after the tractor still screaming, and said, "I am committed to the bit." One host joked, "Now you've gone off book."
When the tractor turned the corner and was out of sight, she collapsed. That's when she realized it had run over her foot while she was holding on. "The adrenaline was pumping at this point," she says. She adds that her ex, who was nearby, probably thought, "Well, she's really in character."
