Inafking's Real Name: Keiji Inafune
history
Inafking (稲船敬二) 本名: Keiji Inafune (稲船敬二)
Answer: "Inafking" was the credit alias of Keiji Inafune (稲船敬二), an artist and producer on Capcom's Mega Man series.
Keiji Inafune was born on May 8, 1965, in Kishiwada, Osaka. He joined Capcom in 1987 as an artist and worked on the original Mega Man (Rockman, 1987). Capcom staff of the era used nicknames in credits, and Inafune appeared as "Inafking," a mix of his surname and "king."
Inafune is widely called the "father of Mega Man," though he has said the hero's original design came from his mentor, Akira Kitamura, and that he refined it. He later produced Onimusha and Dead Rising and became a senior executive at Capcom.
He left Capcom in 2010, founded the studio Comcept, and ran the Kickstarter-funded Mighty No. 9 (2016).
