Real name and stage name

Chung Ha (청하) is both her stage name and her current legal given name. She was born Kim Chan-mi and is now known as Kim Chung-ha (김청하). She performs as Chung Ha, stylized in all caps.

She was born on February 9, 1996. Chung Ha first became widely known on Mnet's 2016 survival show Produce 101, where she finished fourth. That placed her in the show's project girl group, I.O.I.

After I.O.I disbanded in 2017, she debuted as a solo artist with the EP Hands on Me. She went on to become one of the most successful female soloists of her generation, known for strong dance performance and her own choreography work.

Billboard named one of her songs among its critics' picks for the best K-pop songs of 2019, and the Korea Herald and Yonhap have covered her releases and activities.

Because she later took Chung-ha as her name, her stage name and legal name now match, while her birth name was Kim Chan-mi. This page uses Kim Chung-ha as her real name and notes the birth name.
