Biography
Victor Émile Deckmyn was a French boxer associated with Lille. BoxRec records both his birthplace and hometown as Lille in the Nord department and gives his death date as June 18, 1940.
Deckmyn appears in the catalog for a Polygoon newsreel of international boxing at the Rotterdam cycling track in 1932. The catalog identifies Bep van Klaveren against Victor Deckmijn of France. The same reel also contains Huib Huizenaar against Eduard Tenet, so its four names should not be mistaken for a single contest.
The spelling difference is the main name issue. Deckmyn is the form used by the boxing reference; Deckmijn is the version in the Dutch film description. They should be connected as record variants, not treated as two athletes.
The available records establish his full name, French identity and place in the filmed matchup. They do not establish a colorful ring nickname, and this profile does not invent one.
