Quick answer: On the Nov. 1, 2026, episode of CreepCast, Wendigoon and Papa Meat read "The Screaming House," one of the fictional "Police Stories from Junction Falls." It's about an abandoned house where a woman's screams keep moving from room to room, and officers can never find her. It is a made-up horror story, not a real case.

First, this is fiction
Junction Falls isn't a real town. The Junction Falls police stories are internet horror fiction by the Reddit writer TheJesseClark, whose "Police Stories, From The World's Strangest Town" first ran on r/nosleep in 2018. The stories are told by a made-up officer in what he calls the strangest town on earth. CreepCast read a batch of them for the episode "Police Stories from Junction Falls."
The story
The house is an abandoned two-story home in North Shelby with a nasty reputation. At random times during the night, neighbors hear shrill, desperate screams that seem to come from a woman trapped inside. The first time it happened, the department sent a unit.
The officers couldn't find her. The screams always seemed to come from a part of the house nobody was in. When the screaming came from the master bedroom, they ran upstairs and found it empty, and then heard it coming from the kitchen. In the kitchen, it was coming up from the cellar. In the cellar, it was back in the master bedroom. "No matter where in the house they were, the screams were always coming from some place else."

Backup doesn't help
Eventually the officers called for backup and put someone in every room. It didn't matter. The team couldn't find the source, isolate the screams, or even agree on where they were coming from.
The official theory is a trick of the house's architecture that bounces sound around. Nobody believes it, the narrator says, because other sounds don't move through the house like that. And it still wouldn't explain where the screams come from in the first place. No woman has ever been found, and nobody could have survived in there as long as the screams have gone on. There's no record of anyone dying in the building. Priests have given it the all-clear. The man who built the house and later sold it insists he's as horrified as everyone else.
The hosts react
Papa Meat and Wendigoon had the most practical response possible. "That would piss me off so bad," one said, picturing a scream following him from floor to floor. "Let her scream. I'm sleeping with earplugs." The other added, "No wonder the rent was so cheap."
The builder line got the biggest laugh: they imagined him swearing he didn't put the screaming in there.
