Biography
Edouard Tenet was a French boxer from Lyon who competed at welterweight and middleweight. His career included French championship success and European middleweight title contests in the 1930s.
A French biographical entry, citing a Lyon civil-registration record, gives the fuller name Edouard Henry Guillaume Tenet. BoxRec uses the shorter Edouard Tenet. These records do not suggest that Tenet was an unrelated invented surname.
The Polygoon catalog for a 1932 international boxing reel identifies him as Eduard Tenet of France, facing Huib Huizenaar in Rotterdam. He also appears as an upcoming opponent in the description of a Bep van Klaveren training reel. Being named as a future opponent in a training catalog is not proof that he is one of the people visibly sparring in that film.
Tenet later won the European middleweight title, lost it to Van Klaveren, and regained it against Anton Christoforidis. The exact day of Tenet’s death differs between consulted sources, so this profile uses only the undisputed death year, 1978.
