Madd Dogg: Madd Dogg (GTA Character Bio)

Fictional character. Madd Dogg is a fictional character from Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto series. They're not a real person.

Bio

Madd Dogg is one of the biggest rap stars in San Andreas. No other real name is given in the game. He's voiced by Ice-T, a rapper and actor best known for Law & Order: SVU.

Early on, while working for OG Loc, CJ steals Madd Dogg's rhyme book from his mansion and kills Madd Dogg's manager. With his lyrics gone, Madd Dogg's career falls apart. He drinks heavily and sinks into despair.

Spoiler warning: In Las Venturas, CJ finds Madd Dogg on the roof of a building, about to jump. CJ saves him by catching him with a truck full of boxes, then gets him into rehab. Out of guilt and friendship, CJ becomes his manager.

From there, the two work on rebuilding Madd Dogg's career. CJ helps him win back his mansion from a drug dealer, gets his music back on track and deals with OG Loc. In the end, Madd Dogg makes a comeback.

The storyline is one of San Andreas' best examples of redemption. CJ undoes something he did wrong, and the game shows a quieter side of his character. Madd Dogg also gives the story a look at the music business from the inside. Like OG Loc, his fictional albums are referenced in the world, but his songs are not part of the Radio Los Santos playlist.

Madd Dogg is fictional. Ice-T's voice credit is documented in the San Andreas credits and on Behind The Voice Actors.
