Bio

Jeffrey "OG Loc" Cross is a Grove Street associate in San Andreas who badly wants to be a rap star. He's voiced by Jas Anderson, credited in the game's cast and on Behind The Voice Actors.

When players first meet him, Loc is just getting out of prison, and he's thrilled about it, because he thinks a jail record gives him street credibility. His actual talent is another matter. His rhymes are clumsy, his delivery is worse, and the game plays him almost entirely for laughs. As a parole condition, his parole officer places him in a job at Burger Shot, which he hates.

CJ runs a short string of missions for Loc. Most of them are about pushing Loc's music career forward by any means except getting better at music. CJ helps him settle a score with a rival from prison, steal a sound system for a beach performance, steal a rhyme book from the mansion of the rapper Madd Dogg, and deal with Madd Dogg's manager. Loc uses those stolen lyrics to build a hit career, then throws a house party to celebrate.

Spoiler warning: Loc's success doesn't last. Later in the story, after CJ starts managing Madd Dogg, the two of them set out to win back what Loc took. In "Cut Throat Business," CJ confronts Loc and settles the score, and Madd Dogg's career gets back on track.

OG Loc works as a joke on the rap industry and on people who confuse an image with talent. The satire is sharp, but the character is also one of the funniest parts of the Los Santos chapter. Fans still quote his lines. His music shows up in missions and cutscenes, and he appears in talk-radio bits; he does not have songs on the regular Radio Los Santos playlist.

OG Loc is fictional. Jas Anderson's voice credit is listed in the San Andreas credits and on Behind The Voice Actors.
