Bio

Salvatore Leone is the head of the Leone crime family, one of the Mafia families that run Liberty City, and he appears in three GTA games. Actor Frank Vincent voices him in all three, and the official credits list him each time.

In Liberty City Stories, set in 1998, Salvatore is the don for whom Toni Cipriani does much of his work. The game shows him fighting a gang war against the rival Sindacco and Forelli families and plotting to strengthen the Leones' hold on the city. He's cunning, proud and paranoid, and he cares a lot about his reputation.

In San Andreas, Salvatore is one of the Mafia figures behind the Caligula's Palace casino in Las Venturas. CJ, Woozie and their crew rob that casino in one of the game's biggest heists.

In GTA III, set in 2001, Salvatore is Claude's most powerful employer in Portland, Liberty City's first island. Claude does a series of jobs for him, including a war with the Colombian Cartel. Salvatore's trust doesn't last, though. Once he starts to suspect Claude, things turn violent, and Maria Latore, Salvatore's girlfriend, tips Claude off and sends him to the Yakuza. Claude later gets revenge on the don.

Salvatore is a classic Mafia boss, and Frank Vincent, known for Martin Scorsese crime films, gives him that tone. Across all three games, he stands for the old order in Liberty City: a crime family that thinks it owns the town.
