Bio

Roman Bellic is Niko's cousin in GTA IV and one of the best-known supporting characters in the series. He's voiced by Jason Zumwalt.

Roman is an optimist with big dreams. He came to Liberty City and started a small cab company, and he sent Niko emails promising a rich life of mansions, sports cars and beautiful women. When Niko arrives, the truth is very different. Roman lives in a run-down apartment, owes money to loan sharks and keeps losing at gambling.

Despite his lies, Roman loves his cousin, and their relationship is the emotional core of GTA IV. Roman keeps getting into trouble, and Niko keeps having to get him out of it. Their friendship is funny and warm, but also tense, because Roman's choices keep dragging Niko further into crime.

Roman is also famous for his phone calls. Throughout the game, he calls Niko to invite him bowling, play darts or go out drinking. Those invitations became a running joke and a big meme among fans.

As the game goes on, Roman's business grows, and he falls in love with Mallorie Bardas, who also helps Niko. The ending of GTA IV is shaped by a moral choice, and Roman's fate depends in part on which way the player goes.

Roman is fictional, but Jason Zumwalt's credit is listed in the official GTA IV credits.
