Bio

Sonny Forelli is the head of the Forelli crime family in Liberty City and the man who sends Tommy Vercetti to Vice City. Tom Sizemore voices him in Vice City, and the role is listed in the official credits.

Sonny and Tommy go way back. Tommy did 15 years in prison for the Forelli family, and when he's released, Sonny wants to put him to work. Sonny says he's giving Tommy a new start, but he's really sending him south to set up the family's cocaine business in Vice City. When the deal is ambushed and the money disappears, Sonny holds Tommy responsible and demands that he get it back.

For most of the game, Sonny is only a voice on the phone, always angry, demanding and threatening. As Tommy gets richer and more powerful in Vice City, Sonny becomes jealous of his success and wants a share of everything Tommy has built. That greed eventually brings Sonny to Vice City himself and leads to the game's final battle at Tommy's mansion.

Sonny is a classic betrayal villain: an old friend who sees his former employee as property. He represents the past Tommy is trying to escape. Fans also connect the Forellis to later games, where the family is still active in Liberty City.

Sonny Forelli is fictional. Tom Sizemore, a real actor known for films including Saving Private Ryan and Heat, is credited with the voice.
