Antonio "Toni" Cipriani is a Leone family soldier who appears in GTA III and becomes the protagonist of the prequel Liberty City Stories. Two different actors have voiced him, and both are listed in the official credits: Michael Madsen in GTA III and Danny Mastrogiorgio in Liberty City Stories.

In Liberty City Stories, set in 1998, Toni comes back to Liberty City after several years away. He had to leave town after killing a made man for the Leone family. Back home, he finds that he has to prove himself again to Don Salvatore Leone and the family. He works his way up through a war with the Sindacco and Forelli families and a string of rivals, while the Leones fight for control of the city.

Toni's story also has a softer, comic side through his mother, Ma Cipriani, who's never impressed with him. She keeps belittling him, and at one point she even puts a hit out on her own son. That running joke becomes one of the best-loved storylines in the game, and Ma Cipriani carries over into GTA III too.

In GTA III, set in 2001, Toni is a mission-giver for Claude. He runs the Cipriani family restaurant in Saint Mark's, and he sends Claude on jobs against the Triads. The Toni of GTA III is older, more settled and more of a boss.

Toni is one of the few characters who goes from side character to lead in another game. Fans know him as a loyal family man who's still trying to win his mother's approval.
