Bio

Umberto Robina leads the Cubans in Little Havana in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (1986). He also appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. He's voiced by actor Danny Trejo in both.

Umberto runs his business from Café Robina, where he lives with his mother. He's proud and aggressive, and he loves to talk about being a real man. He's also very proud of his gang, and he's in an ongoing war with the Haitians in Little Haiti.

Tommy Vercetti meets Umberto while looking for allies in Vice City. Umberto puts Tommy through a test of manhood, then gives him jobs against the Haitians. These missions are part of the game's gang war between Little Havana and Little Haiti.

Spoiler warning: Tommy also works for Auntie Poulet, the Haitian leader, for a stretch of the story. Eventually he sides with the Cubans and helps them launch a major attack on the Haitians' drug factory. That ends the gang war for the main story, with the Cubans on top and Umberto loyal to Tommy.

Umberto is one of Vice City's best-known characters. Danny Trejo, famous for his tough-guy film roles, gives him a big, comic swagger that suits the game's 1980s crime-movie style.

Umberto is fictional. Danny Trejo's voice credit is documented for Vice City and Vice City Stories on Behind The Voice Actors.
